Today is winter solstice which is one of the most important solar terms in Taiwan. Although it's so hot today, we still would like to eat "tangyuan", suffered rice dumpling, for celebrating. I sincerely hope you and your family will have a happy reunion night.  

What a cold week! You must suffer fro the low temperature these days. However today it seems get warmer. How about go out and enjoy the night with us. The children are ready and look forward your coming. I hope we'll have a great night together.

Recently we are try to wrapping up Let's Go sentence patterns and conversation. By reciting the dialogue, the kids are not only remember the way to speak but also the conversation patterns they can use.  We'' keep practicing in this way.

Later on  we are going to learn grammar. I also prepare some worksheet on some specific grammar points. I always believe learning is need to be achieved by practicing. Only when the pupils are familiar with the exercise they do, they will really acquire the usage of grammar. Therefore if they complain they have too much exercise  needed to be done, please support them. Thank you~

We keep encouraging kids to memorize the conversation listed on the conversation. Through this method they can review the sentence pattern and vocabulary. That's a great way for reviewing.

The weather is getting cold. It seems the winter is really approaching. In the winter we always like to celebrate the most welcomed holiday Christmas together.  This year we also have  a Christmas performance in the middle of December. I sincerely hope all of you come and join us on that night.

We finished 2nd test smoothly. According to the result I see, the pupils got some improvement  on this time. Especially there are some types of questions differ from the previous one. The test will be passed next Monday. All of us are going to have a big rest this weekend.

About the result of listening test, most of the kids do well although I raise the degree of difficulty this time. Keep going! We are going to face the written test tomorrow.

We have listed the result of vocabulary test on the communication book.   There are still some words they get confused like skiing and ice skating, diploma and diplomat...   Tomorrow we'll pass it back. Please encourage them to review these words again.

This time the listening test still includes conversation, long paragraph comprehension, and KK & phonics.   Listening to the CDs is quite a good way to practice.  I hope they'll get ready for tomorrow's test.

We have done vocabulary exam this morning. It almost can be seen as the first fight of second exam. Through this exam the pupils reviewed the words for the test. It also built up the foundation for following sections. They will go through the listening test this Fri. They still need to spare some for reviewing conversation, KK, and reading. If they have questions, please ask them to feel free to come to me.

We are going to do vocabulary test tomorrow morning. I have asked the kids to review all the quizzes they have done and W12 words. If they would like to have a good performance, they have to familiar with all the words from W7 to W12. I believe they will do a good job on this vocabulary test.

Next week we are going to have our vocabulary  and listening tests. Please save some time to review with them.

The second exam is approaching. Next week the first coming is our vocabulary reviewing and listening test.  Please encourage them do more reviewing at home. Especially start from vocabulary~

The activity of reciting weekly conversation has started. We can see our kids try very hard to memory the lines and recite.  The school is going to choose the best class of each grade to be the champion. The winner will have the Pizza Day as a reward. The pupils are not only learning a lot by reciting but also earn a happy reward at the end of each month. I look forward to seeing the winner!

Tomorrow we are going to celebrate the kids' big holiday, Halloween. It's the first time they have a celebration at school. Thus I strongly encourage our kids to dress up for tomorrow. I know the time for preparation is short. Thank you so much for helping them dress up. I believe we will have a big fun together.

Happy Halloween

In order to improve our kids' vocabulary ability, we started to recite the weekly words in the beginning of each class. I also strongly recommend that the kids try to memory the words as much as they can.

Halloween is coming. On October 30th, we encourage the students to dress up for our Halloween celebration. They are going to break through the Barricade.  We also will choose best 5 costume for each class to win an reward.  I believe we are going to have fun on that day.    

The kids all hope tomorrow will be sunny day. This will be their last sports day in Xin Min. SO...let's finger cross and see you tomorrow on a bright sunny day.

Today I passed our weekly quiz sheet to the kids.  Most of the kids who got low score are facing the problem of recalling vocabulary.  Please do ask them review again and keep in memory.  The recall if the vocabulary is always import on English learning. Thanks in advance.

This week we start working on new grammar and KK.  Especially grammar learning, we spent lots of time delivering the concept of subjects or object complements. Although this section is quite hard to them, I am happy to see most of the kids catch the points and do a great job on their weekly quiz. Today I passed the 1st monthly test to the kids. I hope the parents spare some time to check their result and sign for it. If there is any questions, please feel free to contact me.

We have finished our first test this week. Most of kids did it very well. They are so eager to know their performance, I therefore have passed the test to let them know their score. I would like to pass the tests for your reference, however there are sill some students haven't completed the test. That's why I cannot send the test paper back today. I will try to give the test back to them next Monday.  

In addition, the homework this week is only reviewing W6 vocabulary for next week quiz.  The words in W6 are quite easy to them. I mean to make them have a break after the first monthly test. The coming long holiday is expected by  all of us.  So please just relax and be joyful.  May all of you have a big and nice rest in these days.

Quite a hot day today! The lucky thing is our kids don't be impacted by the temperature and concentrate on their studying.  We focus on reviewing KK the weakest part before the test.  I really expect they can get the point and emphasis.

By the way, I passed the vocabulary reviewing test and listening test to them for checking their score. I collect the tests back and will give them later. About these two tests the performance of most kids match our expectation.  If they can keep going, I believe they will get a satisfied result.

We are going to have our first monthly test next Tuesday. The pupils and I  have started the reviewing for it. Most of them have improved a lot; however some of the kids are still struggle. They do need more time for studying this weekend. Next week we will also focus on practicing for this exam.

After a night of typoon growling, we went through it peacfully. I sincerely hope all of you are safe.

Because we have a day off for cleaning our houses, we therefore are goingto be short of one day of reviewing as planned. We'll try our best to catch up tomorrow.

By the way, you may find a wrong spelling on vocabulary list. "barber" has been misplaced "barer". We have corrected it in class. If the kids didn't notice that, please help them. You have my great thanks.

Tomorrow we'll have our voc reviewing test which should be done today if the schedule is ok. Thus please encourage the kids memory the words. I look forward to seeing them have a great performance on the test.

From next week we are going to review the content we have gone through these weeks.  If there is still some sections we haven't finished, we will wrap it up. We have arranged some reviewing tests for them to make sure they have known. The schedule is listed below. I also stick a paper copy on kids' communication book to be your reference.

The kids are looking forward having B.B.Q. with family members and friends. I believe all of us will have a nice holiday.

Good day, everyone ~

Yesterday I passed the weekly test back to the kids. I hope all of you have seen the result. Unfortunately they didn't do good on this quiz. The weakest parts are vocabulary memory and KK.
Therefore we will place the similar questions on tomorrow quiz. I sincerely hope that they will study harder for these two sections.  If they any questions, please do ask them to ask me. I am so willing to help them individually.

The other thing I would like to mention is some of our kids always forget finish their homework on time. It really influence their learning. I cannot be sure that they have understood or not. It makes me worried. Although the kids should take the responsibility for themselves, parents check their communication books to make sure they have done their word will be great help.

Last weekend two of our six graders joined the speech competition of Taipei City. I am so happy that both of them had brilliant performance and got excellent prizes at the end. We encourage kids do the performance in public. This will make them not only command this language well but also make them have confidence speaking in front of people. So we are going to have conversation performance in class next week again. I believe I will have lots of things I can share with you by that time.

Moon Festival is coming~

Time flies~ We have finished our third week.
This week we went through some reading, conversation, and grammar. About the grammar learning they have getting better on recognizing and using countable and uncountable nouns. They also commend the conversation and reading well. The long part I worried is KK and phonics learning.
Although they have well known these symbols, it's hard to them to convert the sounds into letters. But I got to say honestly, the KK is not so hard as we think. If they can practice more, they will find the trick. I sincerely hope the parents can encourage them to review at home.

In addition, please make sure your kid has prepared a L file. We are going to use it for collecting our quiz sheets.

This weekend will be a sunny holiday. Hope all of you will enjoy it!
